MetaGuard is a privacy protection app that detects nearby Meta Ray-Ban glasses using Bluetooth scanning. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data We Collect

MetaGuard does NOT collect, store, or share any personal data. All scanning happens entirely on your device.

Specifically:

We do not collect your location
We do not collect Bluetooth scan results
We do not store any device information
We do not share any data with third parties
We do not have any servers or databases

Bluetooth Usage

MetaGuard uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning and BLE fingerprinting to detect the unique broadcast patterns that Meta Ray-Ban glasses emit. This allows detection even when the glasses are already paired to another device. All scanning happens entirely on your device and no data ever leaves it.

Notifications

MetaGuard sends local notifications when a Meta device is detected nearby. These notifications are generated on your device and are not sent to any external server.

Background Activity

When Background Monitoring is enabled, MetaGuard runs in the background to scan for nearby devices. This activity stays entirely on your device.

Children’s Privacy

MetaGuard does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
